Transloading & Cross Dock

Transloading

Do you import shipping containers of merchandise that needs to be unloaded and delivered to multiple destinations? Transloading or cross docking may be the service you are looking for.  CMI Transportation, LLC offers the necessary knowledge, technology, dock doors and warehouse space needed to provide these services.

Transloading is a piece of the supply chain that transfers cargo from one mode of transportation to another. Our transloading facilities are strategically located near port terminals and rail yards where shipping containers are unloaded and palletized, if necessary, before being loaded into a domestic trailer. Transloading eliminates the costs associated with storage while reducing the cost of transportation by switching from a shipping container to a domestic container or trailer, which saves on the cost of utilizing international containers.

Cross Docking

Cross docking involves unloading products or goods from a truck or container, sorted, and then directly loaded into another truck for delivery.  Our cross docking, logistics systems, and communication systems provide turnaround times of less than 24 hours from the time of receipt to shipment to eliminate costs for storage space.
There are numerous benefits to transloading or cross docking your product.
